Wouldn't it be easier to adapt to a warmer world than live without cars and electricity?

In the short term we are already going through adaptations that are contributing to further global warming. Any change from routine is an adaptation. Air conditioning in temperate and cool zones of the world are being operated for many more hours and days than they were even ten years ago. Air conditioning causes more power plants to operate burning more coal furthering conditons that warm the earth even further. Another adaption that is very near—within the lifetimes of those 70 and younger is the reintroduction of malaria and other tropical illnesses that were eliminated more than a century ago from the warmer parts of temperate regions. As southern temperate zones become closer to tropic zones there will be more insects living for longer periods of the year. More than one year later we can see that New Orleans has not been close to rebuilt. I am not even mentioning the many other small cities of Louisiana and Mississippi that are still ruined or do not exist. A major adaptation that humans everywhere will have to do is either relocate as their former places of habitation are submerged, or learn to be good hosts to those who have been forced to leave a flooded zone. Even though we can make fewer and fewer snowballs for fewer days on average each winter, the global warming cumulative snowballing effect will start to force more drastic (and sometimes mistaken) adaptations as time goes on.

for some years, environmentalism has been the Left's ultimate excuse for increasing government administration over our strikes in techniques the two super and small. this is for mom Earth! this is for the toddlers! this is for the whales! yet till now, the doomsday-concern environmental scares they have trumped up have not been sufficiently super to supply the sinister prize they choose maximum of all: entire administration of yank politics, financial interest, or perhaps individual habit. With worldwide warming, whether, greenhouse gasbags can argue that vehicle emissions in Ohio threaten human beings in Paris, and that for the period of basic terms worldwide government can handle such problems. national sovereignty? Democracy? forget it: worldwide warming has now introduced the Left closer to worldwide government, statism, and the eradication of individual rights than it has ever been formerly.

Maybe, but you eventually reach a point where adaptation is impossible (at least if you want to maintain your standard of living). So pay now or pay later, but you will pay.
