It is very real.

CO2 is 30% higher than it has been for 650,000 years. Methane is 130% greater. These are two of the main pollutants humans put into the atmosphere in excess, and they are two of the primary greenhouse gases.

Look at the 'hockeystick', which shows a dramatic warming since 1950 after a fairly stable climate for 1000 years. In fact, the 10 hottest years in recorded history have all happened since 1990, with 2005 being the hottest.
(see links below)

How's that for proof of man's fault in this? There is ample proof, any real scientist will tell you that.

There has NEVER been an article doubting man's influence on global warming published in a peer-reviewed journal. A recent study of almost 1000 proved that.

Yes, the earth naturally heats and cools, but the rate and amount we are warming now is unprecedented in the recent geologic past. We are doing this, and we must stop it. This is not some political statement or rhetoric. This is science trying to educate a crass, ignorant public of the damage they are doing. The magnitude of temperature increase ALREADY is about 10x that of the 'little ice age' of the middle ages, and rate and amount are only going up.

Just to be clear, glacial and interglacial cycles are mainly controlled by astronomical fluctuations, but we have a detailed record of the last 7 cycles, and what the climate and CO2 is doing now is way different and extreme. The rate of increase is much higher than in the past AND the value itself is much higher.

Global warming is more politics than science
Consider the Earth a 6000 years old (its probably MUCH older)
How long has accurate data about the weather across the whole globe been known? 300 years? 50 years?
So, its not accurate science to make judgments about a system when only 1/5 of its performance is known.
It would be the equivalent of thinking you are going to file for bankruptcy when you have less than $50 in the bank the day before payday. or that you could spend $1000 EVERY day just because you have $3000 in the bank on payday
Mr. Gore's movie is a political statement, if the matter of global warming was SO serious to him, he would be a vegetarian, shower once a month, and ride a bicycle to everywhere he goes. He wants US to be concerned more than he is actually concerned, and that is good politics. Plus, its an easy topic to control, there is not enough data to do accurate science, there is no practical way for an individual to double check him.
Relax! 30 years ago, we were supposed to have started the NEW ICE AGE in 1999! same junk science
and further more, its gonna be easier to adapt to Global Warming than it is to avoid it, ask the mammals and the lizards

I just watched Al Gore's movie last night, and I don't think it's hype, it doesn't scare me, seeing the "before and after" pictures of the various glaciers around the world shocked me. The PROOF, the FACTS and the REALITY is there to prove that it is happening. Those that want to dapple in their denial and say it's a hoax don't realize that our future generations are the ones that are going to have to pay for this, pay for the denial of their past generations.

if you watch the news and read articles about global warming you know that it is really happening!
i mean haven't you noticed how POLLUTED this world is getting!!
I live in Los Angeles and it is sad to admit it but i know that in about 10 years we are going down!!
and yes the movie is true
my science teacher says so
sad stuff huh!
ohh and something we can do to prevent it is for example i used to leave my toaster plugged in even though it was off one thing we can do to at least reduce 10% of the energy we use is to unplug things we are not using!
recycle of course

If we assume it's all a hoax, and we are wrong - we will have left our offspring with the worst environmental concern ever.

However, if we try to clean up our act, what can it hurt? Cleaner air is a goal that can benefit us as well as future generations.

It's scam and a myth promoted by that liberal psychotic Gore, who is so mentally deranged that he actually claimed to have invented the Internet, as well.

I assure you that we have REAL problems in the world, such as the Islamic Fascists that want to destroy us, as President Bush correctly indicated.
