Need help with Christian Prayer?

Question

Every year on Christmas my children and I light special candles to remember the lost loved ones that are no longer with us to share the holiday. I wrote a prayer a 5 years ago, and have lost it, so I need help. Does anyone know any good remembrance type prayers for Christmas time or can someone write one for me. I have tried writing one and nothing seems right. I want something that honors our loved ones and also remembers the reason for Christmas, it should have a place either in it or at the end to say the names of our loved ones. I want something consistent we can use every year and something my children can pass down a a good tradition to their kids

Wow you guys are great! So far all great answers I am glad I asked this question. I did ask my kids to help but they are still pretty young 5, 2, and 2. The twins are barely talking (one cant talk at all she is disabled) and my son still prays for his toys and his room and his shoes and his whatever! LOL Its cute though

Just start your prayer and say Father in the anme of Jesus and make your request known to God and his holy spirit will lead you to do the rest. Because when you pray in secret God will reward you openly. This prayer may be more dynamic than the first and then you will gladly hand it down to your love ones and who knows what the reward of the prayer that you will pray will be.

As we come to celebrate another year alive and another year lived we remember why we are even here, to give you Praise.

We thank you Father for loving us so much that you sent our only Son, that we may have eternal life in your presence. Your presence is nothing less than a present. For we deserve nothing, but you have given us everything.

We think of our loved ones and how much you allowed us to enjoy their times here on earth. You are wonderful, almighty, glorious.

You told us in the book of Jeremiah that you formed us, you knew us and detailed our lives before we were formed in our mothers womb. You said you have plans for us to prosper (spiritually), we thank you for never allowing your word to return back void.

We cry out for your loving kindness, we need your mercy, your joy, your peace, your salvation.

So as we embark this new year, We ask that you hear our cry's and wipe away our tears.

For in the Name of Jesus Christ your Son we have a reason for hope and prayer and in His name we end this prayer.

As we celebrate His birth through Christmas tomorrow help us to keep forever the remembrance in our hearts and minds that He died on the cross for us, through the shedding of His blood we are cleansed from sin and through faith in Him we are saved.

i think that you should get with your kids and together come up with a prayer. Remember that God dosent see how long a prayer is or how short but sees with wat attitude you pray. Any prayer is good for God as long as it comes from the heart!!!
