Well, Jesus can intercede on our behalf, because the Bible says He was tempted in all points as we are, yet He was without sin, so He understands our human emotions/weakness by personal experience; plus He intercedes ALSO because He is our propitiation with His shed Blood on the Cross, which was the perfect sin sacrifice, since He WAS sinless.

Yes The trinitarian Godhead is how we explain the character of God,

When Jesus's prayed to the father, its similar (on a very rough scale) to how you would consult with yourself about a decision

When we are considering a matter we talk it over in our own conscience, Jesus talked it over with God, the part of himself that was uncontainable and yet tottally connected

Just similar to your concsience

actually there is no direct definition of the Trinity in order to have basis about this...They are the same in essence but differ in functions and that's the mystery of the Trinity. we can not explain it exactly for if we can, we are greater than God ( which is NOT possible to be )...we know that we are NOT equal to God so expected that there are things that we can not understand, only God can...
and pls read 1 Timothy 2:5

before Jesus died on the cross,we could not have fellowship with God,we can only get to God thrue Jesus,so when we sin Jesus is our mediator
