Somebody I know is super paranoid that there's going to be a draft. I think that's silly, but can I please get an educated answer?

The dems have a majority now, and its only dems who want a draft.... so you can thank all the idiotic masses that voted democrat who thought they were going to pull out of iraq, not draft everyone for it. The dems played you all like fiddles.

YAK- with a draft, they will certainly cut re-enlistment bonuses and other benies. its a sure fire way to destroy the fighting effectiveness of the military, cut benies, and fill it with undesirable pukes who dont want to fight or would rather collaborate with the enemy like their liberal buddies did, anyone remember kerry?

At this point, I would say the likelihood is very small. Certain events could occur, however, that would change the current circumstances. I don't know what these circumstances are because people's reactions are difficult to predict. If another terrorist attack occurs, two things could happen: the people will blame Bush for provoking it, the Democrats for not defending the country, or the people could unite and demand an offensive strategy to eliminate terrorism. This last option is the least likely, but there's always a chance that if the attack kills multitudes of people, US citizens will blame the only people really responsible--the terrorists.

It's not likely in the near future (5 to 10 years).

But after that, I would put my money on the draft, and a lot more combat all around the world until the mental midgets that have been brainwashed and all of their illegitimate leaders are dead.

First of all, the Democrats might actually get us out of this hole that the Republicans dug for us.

Second of all, no worries, a draft is HIGHLY unlikely. Those who complain about a draft are just cowards who are afraid they might be asked to give back to the country that has given everything to them.

Probably not likely right now, but there could be a real one later if for example we get attacked and our present military can't deal with it all.

Charlie Rangel admits he wants to jolt Americans, and I think all he has done is scare a bunch of kids. It is a stunt, nothing more.

Now that the Democrats are in charge you can almost bet on it.

Don't worry, the two years will go by very fast and you'll have great VA benefits once you get out (unless the Democrats cut them).

If Congressman Charlie Rengal gets his way, he's got a bill in the Senate to make just that happen.

Aren't you liberals glad you voted Democrat?
