I just moved 100 miles away from my family and friends. I know to some that is far away but to me it is. I just got engaged to a guy and I live down here with no family and friends. I get sad b/c the holidays are here and I had to work turkey day and I couldn't spend it with my family. Over all I am home sick and I don't know how to over come it. Even though my mom and I fough like cats and dogs I still miss being there. I am with a guy who likes to work a lot and has little time for me. I work a lot of hours myself but it's a very stressful job so can some one plz help on how to get over my home sickness?

Call home everyday and tell your family how much you love them!

Why would you get engaged to a man that works all the time and has little time for you? It will only get worse as time goes on. The man will be married to his job and you will be a little diversion. Give the guy back his ring, go back home and be happy. Find someone that has time for you. Get a less stressful job and be happy.

I'm also in your position as I'm away ( 1000miles) from my wife and kid. I use my time carefully so that I wont be alone and thinking about my family. I used to call my wife and son almost three times a day. In the morning I go for workout which keeps me fresh and in the evenings I go for swim so that I keep my self busy all the day and make many friends. Take it as a challenge and enjoy the life.

my mom talks to my grandparents all the time on the phone witch keeps her from getting home sick. You could also encourage your guy to move with you to a closer place by them.

keep in touch. i dont know how often you would be able to visit your family, but i think a visit whenever you can would definatley help. i think not knowing when you will see your family again largely influences how much you will miss them. so if you have a visit to look foward to, then you can focus on thing of immediate importance.
