I recently posted a question and referred to a group as RADICAL ISLAM. One muslim answered and said I should not call this group "radical islam" because their violence and terrorism proved that they were not truly muslim. He felt I was creating a category called "radical islam" that actually doesn't exist because one cannot be truly a muslim and also be radicalized and violent. He was offended by my use of this term.

After reading his answer I can see how he would be offended. Problem is, how does one refer to this group of terrorists who use violence to achieve their ends without offending true muslims. What should we call this group in discussions so as to be able to identify who we are talking about without offending true muslims?

Not trying to judge. Just really want to know. Please no angry responses.

I don't hv a suggestion on what we could call this group, I am just so impressed that u r fair enough n care enough to not want to offend true Muslims. So many here at this forum hate anyone n everyone who follows Islam becuz of the extremist actions of a few.

A true Muslim would indeed be a terrorist...it's all in the Quran..."Kill the Infidel."
I see many Muslims here saying that only a minority of Muslims support terrorists but that's a lie; very many Muslim Mosques in Europe and the US contribute towards terrorism. The secret agenda of Muslims is to convert the world to Islam or end it all.
There's no good Muslim but a dead Muslim.

no1 can judge whats in anyons heart and thats the bottom line.. if u wish just call them terrorists. im not gonna be offended. but for that person to say that such and such is not a muslim is wrong. if that person says he is muslim u cant make up ur theories unless he clearly worships more than One God.

Have you heard of criminals?

Criminals come in all colors (White, Black, Hispanics, Arabs, Asians...etc) and religions (Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, Hindu...etc), and they tend to use their religion to comfort and legalize their twisted actions.

So, you should not single out Islam and associate it with radicalism, because it's not the religion, it's the people who interpret the religion, and it's true with all peoples...

Peace...

It is kind of hard, I know what you mean. I my self sometimes get confused with that.

I apologize that I won't be able to give you a clear answer, but all I want you to know is that every individual is unique..

So simply,.. don't generalize anyone in any thing. It's a lesson I learned and am trying to hold tightly on.

Peace.

That was me who you are talking about! Further I posted this to your other question:

I don't care call them anything but don't associate 'ISLAM' with it! There are those killing in the name of Christianity as well, how come I have never heard of 'RADICAL CHRISTIANITY'?

Who cares if you offend Muslims? They are offensive in their religion. They kill people if they don't believe. This is a religious war regardless of what the U.S. says. One can be truly a Muslim and be radical and violent. They are just following the writings of Muhammad who instructed them to kill. Don't believe the false teaching that Muslims are peaceful people. Even the ones who are not violent support those who are.

my wife is muslim and i am not--she even refers to the terrorist muslims as you do--they are radical and have bastardized islam to fit their thinking--but it is Islam they twisted, not christianity or judaism so the term is correct and they should understand that because it not only depicts their roots, it shows their twisted thinking.
