If they just stoof there it would spray all over their chest. Dogs don't like smelling like that.

My dog hikes his leg up to pee but he make sure that he's looking at me because he likes when I say yeeeaa Cody thats a good boy. LOL!!!

Most dogs do this, however I have seen them actually squat on occasion. When they lift their leg it pulls their "little buddy" up into a higher postion for other dogs to smell. Also it keeps them from spraying it all over the back of their front legs.

My dog just leans forward and pees. It's strange looking but it works for him!

They don't if they've been neutered. it's a marking behavior. If you neuter a male dog at the right time he will not mark and pee and sniff much less often.

male dogs will hike their legs so they can spray the urine so that it will be at nose level to other animals, they do this to mark territory

I read somewhere they try to mark up as high as possible. Maybe so the other dogs think they are bigger than them? LOL! Good question!

they do that so the pee dousen't hit there other leg
