Around the globe, Jehovah's Witnesses respect the governments and flags under which they live. However, Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the flag salute is an act of worship, and a "pledge of allegiance" can only made to God. Witnesses practice strict neutrality.
Jehovah's Witnesses understand the bible to teach that Almighty God requires exclusive devotion; that is, he requires that worship and unrestricted allegiance belong to Him alone.
(Exodus 20:5) I Jehovah your God am a God exacting exclusive devotion
(Matthew 4:10) Then Jesus said... ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’
Of course, Jehovah's Witnesses are well-known as law-abiding persons. The Scriptures also teach that obedience is owed to secular governments, which the bible calls "the superior authorities". Of course, such subjection is RELATIVE to the unrestricted allegiance which is owed to God.
(Romans 13:1) Let every soul be in subjection to the superior authorities, for there is no authority except by God; the existing authorities stand placed in their relative positions by God
(Acts 5:29) We must obey God as ruler rather than men
It may be helpful for non-Witnesses to read all of Daniel chapter 3, and note the connections between the ceremony described there and modern pledge of allegiance.

Like all groups they have good and bad aspects. In general they are peace loving fine people. Unfortunately the good is outweighed by the bad. As a high control cult they use basic mind control methods to take away their followers freedom. Most destructive is the forcing of family to shun former members.
See http://www.jwfacts.com/index_files/disfellowship.htm to see just how destructive and unchristian this practice is.
Most people do not hate JWs, in fact over half the global population has never even heard of them.

We don't hate them, we care very much for them. It is their false teaching cult that we don't like. They changed the Bible they use, take the book of John for example. Where most Holy Bibles read," In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God". Their Bible says, "the Word was a God"
By adding just, ( a ) they changed the whole meaning..
Not only that, they don't believe in confessing your sins to Jesus Christ and be born again.
Satan knows man longs for God. He doesn't care if you think you are worshipping God, as long as it is the wrong God.

No, we don't need more of them. I don't think an ancient book will dictate the behavior of every individual in a group. I think it's the individual who dictates his/her own behavior. The bible says that they will respect laws, but what if the government makes a law that goes against their beliefs? Not that the government hasn't already.

Well, think about this: if the world were filled with Jehovah's Witnesses, one wouldn't have to worry about war, thievery, murder, smoking, alcoholism, adultery, unwanted and illegitimate children, abortion, sexually transmitted diseases being sexually transmitted, etc... sounds like a good deal to me! :)

Not necessarily. What we need is more Christians who walk the walk and talk the talk instead of simply flapping their gums like flags in the wind with nothing but lipservice being given to the word the are espousing to follow.
