do i need a phone line to get sky installed?

No not at all, we had sky installed and we had no phone line, we told the fitters we were waiting for bt to fit the line etc and we got sky no problems.

I was having this argument with my boyfirned about a week ago and the out come was that you dont need to because you can have freesat with sky to view all the free channels without a phonline connected but in order to pay for movies you must keep phoneline connected so they can deduct it from your bill otherwise you get a nasty bill through the post with charges but thats only with watching movies or naughty channels!

I had to have a phone line when I got my sky installed, but that was 12 years ago

yes you do need a landline, but not to make sky work, its there so they can send updates or get billing information via the modem in the sky digibox, also they can switch of your service via the phoneline if you dont pay the bill. thats the reason you have to have a landline connected, no other.

yeah u do.just to get a film an view ur bill via the red button etc but sky are doing a really good offer at the moment but i think you have to have had sky tv for 1 month.its free unlimited landline calls for £5 how cheaps that!! x x x x x

Dont pay sky a penny tell them as a loyal customer you feel you should not have to pay .Tell them if they dont set you up for nothing you will not bother with sky i promisew you they will do it for nothing also do not take out ther insurance on there sky boxes because i dont and when they pack up i just phone them and they ask for money for a new box .I tell them no and say i will cancel and in the end they do it for nothing .They will drop the price to try and get somthing from you but dig in and tell them nothing or you will cancel as you pay enougyh for your package allready .And there scottish twats

yes you need a bt landline you can get this for around £9.99 a month these days, i hope this helps

you only need it for the first year. if you don't have landline the charge extra.
