Political/Secular leaders have been gathering to hammer out pacts & treaties for centuries. Why do you think Religious leaders haven't done this yet? And why should we follow any religion who's leader would refuse to do this?

This wouldnt be an actual negotiation. Just an exchange of ideas to gain further understanding of each other's view points and needs.

Ohh Bert... you ask a reasonable question of religious people? There hasn't been a gathering of religious leaders since the council of Nicea. And that was under strict orders of agreement from the emperor (Constantine). It's a good idea... but read the previous posts... apparently god doesn't want that to happen! What does that tell ya!

Well... in the words of John Lennon... Imagine...

Most religions don't have a leader, at least one that is recognised by all. Not even all catholics agree with the pope, and there is no real leader who represents all of Islam for instance. How would you think they could negotiate, especially Islam, Judaism and Christians, who all believe THEY have a monopoly on the word of God, and therefore truth - and wouldn't concede to people they essentially view as heretics.

confident we are, with the aid of the media! we won't be able to easily shop on with the applicants and make up our very own minds. we would desire to be consistently tension fed a dozen instruments of pollnumbers which in basic terms let us know to a pair point of accuracy what all the different dimwits ensue to believe. On that, we are meant to base our decision. Pathetic!!! To each and all the bandwagon lemmings available: you're particularly pathetic!!!

It might be hard to get the head of the church to show up. And if you did, most would say he was a fanatic and wouldn't listen to him.

Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body.

Every religion beleives they are the right religion and the rest are wrong and going to hell. They see no reason to compromise and to they make a lot of money. Greed keeps them from wanting to share this vast source of wealth with others.

They most likely do, but it's on now to keep people coming and giving their money, believing in god is your choice and living your life is your choice, so why not take what you believe and the good thing about life you believe in and leave it at that.

They do this all the time,

There are many leadership meetings, like what you are talking about happening around the world.

They dont televise it at all, and you simply dont hear about it unless your pluged in to the right people groups

P.s You could Join a genuine Christain Church, if you dont already... its the Best!

Cheers,

Because people of every church feel that their priest/preacher/pastor/whatever is the best. They would never agree on one representative from each religion and relious denomination.

And, with the Pope's feelings toward Islam-actually think it would do any good? And, he'd want his say-want things his way.
