And the whole world saw God, and He performed great miracles to prove to you He was God, would you believe?

Ah I did not think so you little hypocrits. Now do not ask why YOU DO NOT SEE GOD! Why would he manifest to you God knows you will deny HIM.

It would take no less than that to convince me.
So you have my word that just as soon as that happens, I'll become a theist.
I'm sure it will be any day now.

It all depends on your ability to see, right? And I'm not being flippant by stating this because the brain is wired such that it cannot perceive what it has never experienced. That being the case, if you have never seen god, your brain will not recognize god even if this entity were standing right in front of you. You must have a point of reference. So...
Is it not better to cast your gaze internally? The fact that we have consciousness means a part of us is divine. Your search for divinity should begin at home. In your internal world.

you have a misunderstanding of atheists. They choose not to believe him. Some think he exists they just refuse to worship anything. Agnostics are people who are on the line. They can swing either way. Sometimes they believe sometimes they do not. I personally am agnostic. If he came down and i saw him, i would have to say yes, of course i believe. But the fact that he can't, just shows me that he might not be there.
You see, there are times when things seem just perfect (miracle wise), that's when i am just like "There has to be something bigger". But then, you see CHILDREN who have to suffer divorced parents, murders, suicides, fmily deaths, stuff that is not their fault, but still hurts them, and it makes you wonder "Why? That kid was young, so young the devil couldn't get a hold of them...why are they put through that?" That's cruel. And it's also why i am balanced on the line.
I hope this gives you some more outlook on the way people like myself, think.
^_^ Have a good day.

Sure, if I saw that I'd believe. But I would still believe you are a very hateful and angry person who is hell bent on believing that everyone who doesn't believe exactly as you do is bad. Then again I'm agnostic. I acknowledge that I don't know EVERYTHING. You on the other hand ...................
Sometimes I fear for humanity. If you fail to question things and believe completely what you are told by religious figures, you could end up promoting genocide, racial cleansing, etc. Extremely scary.

Oh my ... YES! Please talk to Him and make it happen! Should I start holding my breath now?
And here's a free lesson in theology:
Assuming you're a Christian, you should know better than to propose an impossible scenario for God. If he revealed himself Thusly, what would happen to free will?

Actually, yes I would. At that point there would actually be some evidence for the existence of god. This is in opposition to the case currently in which there is no such evidence. Bring on the rapture then.

No.
However, if such an entity appeared, called itself god, and was willing to subject itself to a peer reviewed scientific study which resulted in a world-wide consensus that it WAS god, then I would be willing to believe it's claim.
And that would change my life exactly how???

I think so, yes...assuming we could confidently rule out hallucination, some elaborate trick, or the arrival of aliens with a superior technology. We're impressed by confirmable proof.
Now...
If it turned out to be Zeus and not the Judeo-Christian God, would you fall down on your knees and welcome him or fall prey to his mighty thunderbolts? Would you be crushed under his red right hand rather than admit that you were wrong?

I would believe that it were a deity. It would have to tell me that it was the Christian god and give me a signed copy of the Bible before I believe that it is the Christian god.

Sure everyone would believe, then again it isn't prophecised, but Jesus will come back soon and restore the faith so don't worry about the atheists, they may get a great big chance at coming back to the side of the Lord.
