I've always used a real xmas tree, but this year I have a artificial one. I got a puppy and I'm afraid of her getting sick from the pine needles. I'm going to decorate it with my usual ornaments, but instead of using balls I'm using red bows.

Artificial. My cats would climb it if it were real, and we didn't want the tree dropping needles everywhere.
The decorations are every color because the tree is covered in ornaments passed down through our family. It has about 1,200 lights (white and colored), around 300 ornaments, garland, beads, and old tinsel.

My Christmas tree is artificial with white lights. My decorations are in burgundy and gold. I don't use tinsel because I have a cat, and because I hate tinsel! Instead, I use burgundy and gold ribbons and bows.

I gave up on the real tree, too hard to keep moist, and to dispose of. Ours is a fiber optic, with all the kids homemade decorations on it.

i always get a real christmas tree - i just love the smell !!! yes, its work and taking it down is messy, but it's just once a year. i usually put red ornaments and clear icicles and all my keepsake ornaments from when my kids were small. i just love to sit in my livingroom and look at it. after new years, i always am sad to take it down !!! have a merry christmas
