it depends on how temporary you want it.. there is temporary color that lasts 1-2 shampoos and temporary color that lasts 6-12 shampoos.

since I'm not sure exactly what level you want, I would recommend Jazzing by Clairol which is known as a cellophane hair color (sold at Sally Beauty Supply).

with Jazzing, you can achieve 1-2 shampoos worth of color if you do not process it for 10-15min without heat, however if you want to achieve 6-12 shampoos worth, put a plastic processing cap on your head after applying the hair color, and heat using a blow dryer for about 10-20min.

I like Herbal Essences colors the best, but Natural Instinct seems to stay put longer.

I only use natural hair dyes, Henna Powder. It can be bought from any good health retailer. Its cheap, it lasts and goes along way, and gives great colour - straight from the salon look. it does require adding a splash to lemon squeeze, fresh or otherwise. the colour I use for my brown hair is Dark Burgundy.

Color Flirt by Clairol. It washes out after a week or two.
