I have naturally wavy hair, which i frequently straighten. I normally don't use alot of product in it, except for the occasional spritz of hairspray. It looks good when I'm inside, but as soon as I leave for school it starts to curl a little, which tends to be really annoying when you spend like 40 minutes straightening it.

Are there any good tips to keep it straight?
thanks!

i know exactly how you feel.
what i do is the night before school i straighten it and put gel on my hands and run it through, not so its hard, but just so it easier to manage. then that moning i retstraighten is and put gell through it again and hairspray. then when im outside, sometimes i wear a hood, don't nkwo why but it helps, and then if you jsut bring some gel t school, you can put that into it and it wil lstraighten it out.

I used to have the same problem! I'm 13, and have straightening my hair for about 2-2 1/5 years. I have lots of layers too, and after my hair was perfect (straight and neat), eventually it would get frizzier and flip out on the ends. A trick I learned from a friend, was to flip your hair over (like your doing a pony) and straighten your hair with it upside down. That way it gets super straight and there's no fly aways. Then put in some hairspray. Other tips: use a straightening gel, mousse sometimes works, and heat protecting spray. Good luck! :) ^.^

i always straighten my hair it stays straight all day..it was even raining today and still stayed straight....when you straighten it u should use a ceramic straightener and keep going over your hair with it..... use some hair serum. they sell it any salon or if you want a cheaper brand u can get it at any store. if you get it dont use a lot because it will make your hair look greasy if u use a lot .so use like 1 pump. straighten your hair aat night instead of mornings. and go over it really fast in the morning. then put 1 layer of hairspray on.

there is this product that is on the market, but only in expensive hair salons, Wella for straight ceramic iron. it comes in a clear bottle with a blue solution inside. It keeps your hair so straight for days you wont have to reuse your striaghtener for another week.
this product is a spritz on spray, with a little hairspray in it which holds it straight. its honestly a good product, but is quite a small bottle, and its $26.95. there is also a smaller serum you can put through your hair after you straighten it, but i forgot the name, and its $29.95 and is totally small, that you only use 2 drops [er day.

Moisturizing shampoo or conditioner absorbs moisture from the air making it curlier. By using a leave in conditioner designed for flat ironing called thermal protection, you will be conditioning it and protecting it from outside moisture. Then if the moisture in the air does hit your hair, don't touch your hair until it dries. Like a drop of water on a towel penetrates the towel when touched. Let the hair dry first.

Wow that sounds exactly like me. My hair waves too eventually. But whatever you do, dont get your hair chemically straightened. It looks horrible. I knew this white girl who got it done, and her hair is blonde and everything, and when she walked, her hair didnt move at all. That's just not normal! lol

that happened to me for a while...if you walk to your bus stop or to school, take the hood from your jacket and put it on top of your head. a beanie cap also will help. if that doesnt help, theres this hair creme from avon called advanced techniques and that helps me alot. i bought this VO5 wax for my hair at walmart and i put it at the tips of my hair and straighten it. it will make a frizzle noise and smell bad at first, but it should help keep your hair straight.
