Im about to buy a yorkie...im worried about the shedding, but the breeder told me that they dont shed, though theyre long haired dogs....

id like to know what he would say to why dont they shed....he will probably just answer they just dont lol....
find a better breeder...

The answer to your question is : ALL dogs shed, so "yes". Time to find a new breeder. If shedding is an issue, then a fish is probably your only option. Any breeder who flat out says that Yorkies don't shed is lying to you to try and make a sale. What else are they lying to you about? Run away from this breeder.
The Yorkie club of America has codes of ethics and conduct laid out for reputable yorkie breeders. Visit the site and see if your breeder measures up. I'd take 2 to 1 odds that she doesn't.

Some dogs don't shed much at all. But the hair then mats more easily. It has to go somewhere. I had 3 Shih Tzus & hardly ever found hair on the carpet. I kept them all clipped short though. Yorkies are a lot of work to keep groomed if you want to keep the long coat. You might want to call a local groomer just to ask some questions.

They do not shed but they need to be brushed and combed daily as well as groomed professionally once a month.

my st bernard used to shed 24/7, now i just keep him shaved year round....i suggest u do the same

Anybody that trys to tell you different is a LIAR or a FOOL ...or both!
