I have a Sh!tzu also. Well depends on it's nature. Mine is very loving and gets along well with the other dogs, but now a guinea pig I wouldn't know. When you get it, hold it in your hands and let your dog sniff it and touch noses and see how he acts, if his tail is wagging that's a good sign, if he growls I wouldn't let the pig down. If all went well with the sniffing then try putting it down but be ready to grap it or the dog.

Friend of mine found a baby racoon and her dogs and cat loves it and the coon loves them, but don't know about a guinea pig and house pets.

A canines or 2 guinea pigs? they are soooo distinct! A cage or no cage, walks or no walks, severe preparation or little preparation, some grooming or truly any grooming, plenty and various of interest or various of interest? dogs are extra artwork than guinea pigs-contained in the starting up fantastically! And extra money! in my opinion, i'd pick a canines over 2 guinea pigs, yet it really is me-no longer you! Its problematical to say! it isn't quite somewhat personalities-its about needs besides! are you able to satisfy a dogs needs purely besides as you could meet 2 guinea pigs needs? For both you want staying power, yet i imagine distinct kinds of staying power and dogs you want extra! you also favor to coach a canines properly, even as a guinea pig you truly have tto practice (protecting and perchance some tricks, and so on). It truly relies upon on the quantity oof time you've, the money you've, and so on. I wish i'd be extra help, yet it really is a problematical quetion to respond to in view that i do not comprehend a lot about you. in case you get a canines, evaluate adopting-they have pup's at rescues and pounds, yet large human being dogs too! you could also undertake piggies. seem into both and keep a life or 2 in spite of that you choose! reliable luck:)

My Shih Tzu & budgie used to eat off the same cracker. He also let the budgie sit on his head. I can't see a Shih Tzu hurting another animal. I have no experience with guinea pigs. I would supervise them closely at all times.

I have a Dog and 3 baby Guenia pig's and she has been introduced face to face with all of them and all she did was lick them all. She has never attempted to hurt them at all. But I am very cautious when I have the baby pigs out. Let your dog get used to the pig being in the cage for awhile before you introduce them. Just remember that Dogs have a natural instinct to kill smaller animals.
