1. How long have you smoked for? --- A year and a half
2. How much do you smoke per day? --- On a work day, probably about six or seven cigarettes. On the weekend, probably thirteen or fourteen.
3. Do you know about the effects of smoking on your health? --- What? Smoking is bad for you? What the hell? ... Yes, of course I do.
4. Did smoking have effects on your body so far? --- Nope. Went through boot camp as a smoker. Soccer as a smoker. My stepdad is a little over 50 and can still run circles around the best of the soccer players and has been smoking over thirty years. Some people's bodies can handle it, some cant.
5. Are you aware of second hand smoke? --- Yes. And I always have the decency to ask the people I am sitting around if they mind if I light a cigarette. And if they do, I simply walk away until I am done.

I have been smoking for 18 years. I'm 29 years old now.
I smoke anywhere from 2-3 packs per day depending on my stress level.
Yes I know about how smoking effects my health. My family and friends tell almost every day.
Yes since I've been smoking as long as I have and as much as I have I have developed COPD. It's a lund disease that is sometimes fatal. I also have asthma but I was born with that.
Yes I am aware of second-hand smoke and that's why I don't smoke around people that don't smoke. It's easier for me because my fiance smokes also.
I hope this helps you with your survey and my name is KIMBERLY.

20 year smoker at one pack per day. Yes I think we all know the effects smoking has on the health. It has caused increasing problems, asthma, bronchitis, problems with allergies and chronic cough. I am cautious with my own second hand smoke because of my other family members, especially grandchildren and not a public smoker. I am aware of second hand smoke and third hand smoke!

I have smoked for 12 years
A pack a day
Yes I know the effects.
No effects so far, but I do cough more.
Secondhand smoke has been found harmless by the World Health Organization. The whole "secondhand smoke" theory is rubbish - in fact they found that kids who lived in a smoker's house actually had a decreased chance of cancer. I've included a link to prove this.
Good luck with your survey.

I will answer this for my parents.
My Father smoked for 68 years.
One to two packs a day, depending on what year or trauma was going on.
The cigarettes gave him EMPHYSEMA. Hardening of the lungs. The lack of oxygen to his capillaries caused him to be profoundly deaf, blind and have severe dementia. It was a horrible death.
My Mother never ever smoked, with exception to the Second hand smoke my Father shared for 61 years. She died of congestive heart failure, from the second hand smoke.
My husband and I smoked 7 or 8 years 39 years ago, so we are long over any side effects.

Fact: The participants consisted of 650 patients with lung cancer and 1542 control subjects. Patients with smoking related diseases were excluded from the control group. None of the subjects in either group had smoked more than 400 cigarettes in their lifetime.

This study excludes people with smoking related diseases, but doesn't say if those excluded were non-smokers. The problem with second hand smoke is that causes smoking related diseases in people who do not smoke.
