No, gender should not be an issue, as a career military man who retired after Desert Storm, I served under and with women, and had women serve under me, they showed me repeatedly that they are every bit as capable as the men they served with, except in matters of size, a 110 lb women is obviously not as strong as a 240 lb man, but in their dedication, patriotism, and willingness to serve they stood as tall and proud as anyone. If we are to have a draft, then we should take all of our best, and that includes women.

Yes, draft. I always hear the argument that the American people wouldn't support a draft on women, but I disagree. From what I have seen more people support it than don't.
Besides, historically women have always been part of the battle. Greek women acted as medics and defenders during sieges in the pelopenessian war 2500 years ago, they served during every war of the 20th century, and there are too many other examples throught history to name here where they were either in support of the battle or actually fought. So why not?

Equal rights and responsibilities. Yes, women should be included in the draft. The only exceptions should be single parents, and of course not drafting both parents at the same time.

I believe that the draft is a terrible idea and should only be considered in the most dire of situations, if it were to happen during this war it would be a idiotic travesty.
But yes, if there is a draft the women should indeed be included; anything else is segregation.

YES. I served 15 ys and saw many combat positions opened in the US Navy, and women did just FINE in those jobs.
I would also justify it as you stated... women have DEMANDED their constitutional right to have gender removed from consideration for jobs and pay... therefore it goes to follow that now one of the responsibilities will be to serve if drafted.
Of course it won't WORK that way and will kill any proposed draft.

Service to our country should not be based on gender--or volunteerism. I believe in a universal draft that would require at least 1 year's service to our country. The service does not need to be military, it could be serving in police, firefighting, health care or education in some support role. The idea would be to create a sense of national commitment based on service--and no exceptions for rich people's kids, either.

I spent several years in the military, and I think that if women are drafted or join they should take the same risks as men, equal pay equal risk.

Gender should not matter.
Thousands of women have busted their butts trying to get in the military. Now that they're in, they get a free pass to not fight?
I've known women who our enemies would be very afraid of. And considering our current war, getting killed by a woman is very offensive.
If you're standing up to be counted in the military, be counted.

Absolutely open to all. Are females less loyal or more afraid to serve than males?
A citizen should not be judged by the anatomy between their legs. You either have honor and commitment or not.

Yes. ALL US citizens 18 years of age who are physically qualified should be included in the draft. No deferments.
