I think I screwed up...

Yesterday a guy asked me out for coffee. When he payed for it I didn't offer to pay my share cuz I thought if he asked me out then he should pay for it...so I didn't say anything and waited till after he paid and said thank you. And he said:"Well I don't get to see u everyday so.."

Should I at least offer to pay? What should I say if he insist? Is there anything I could do to make it up?

I always make some sort of offer. If he insists I just say " Thank you, next time it's on me" Forget about it now, let some time pass and then ask him for coffee and tell him "Since you paid last time, I'll pick it up this time".

You are fine. This guy is not going to care that he paid for your coffee and you didn't offer. It's such a small amount of money that he shouldn't care. There is no way he even remembers it now, so don't say anything or act like you have to "make it up." He would just laugh at that. Next time you can offer to pay, but don't waste any time worrying about this.

If he asked you out, then it should be on him...and I think he was going to pay anyway. I don't think he expected you to pay anything. I don't think you have to make anything up. And if he is a little upset that you didn't offer to pay, then he's a cheapskate and you don't want to be with him anyway.

You could have offered. BUT he should pay. I wouldn't let a girl pay, even if she asked me out.

for me..if i asked the girl out for coffee or dinner, i will pay for it.. no need to be offered like that... maybe sometimes i will say like that but for just kidding baby... but i don't whether that guy said it for real or just for kidding like me.. yeah sure if you want to be more polite..you can ask to pay for yours... and i'm sure the gentle guys won't let you to do it...

Offer to pay for yourself, and if he stops you then I would let him pay. Next time try and pay ahead, or have the waiter say its covered, and pay for it when you leave =]

I don't think he has a problem with it! But don't bring it up, and maybe ask him out!! Usually the one who asked is the one to pay!!
