Have you ever heard of prosopagnosia? It's an actual disorder in which a person cannot recognize anyone's face, including their own. The disorder is explained in detail in an article in last month's Wired magazine, and there is actually a group in Yahoo! for people with this disorder to meet and discuss strategies and tips to deal with it.
If this has been going on your whole life, this might be it. If this is a more recent thing, it probably is something psychological, and you should seek the help of a professional (psychiatrist, social worker, etc.) If you do make an appointment with someone, be sure to be very specific and honest so he/she can help you properly. Good luck!

I guess it has got something to do with your depression. In having such depression, you tend to loss track of life, and most of all your mind. Try to rest your whole self for a few hours. Think nothing but emptiness, feel the endless quietness. Let yourself go at this time. After that come back to the reality and see for yourself your surrounding that hasn't changed a bit, in fact not at all. Peace be with you.

Drink fruit juices. Crangrape is very good. Listen to a good Concerto. Start a decent book and don't rush through it. Let me know how things work out. Okay?

This is a very good blog, a beginner’s guide to abnormal psychology.
Short, clear and simple; and you can even post your question and contact the author regarding particular subject you are interested in, for FREE

Is this a trick question? Are you the same guy that didn't know where he was or wanted someone to recognize you so you'd know who you are?? If it is - this is getting a little old dude.

Indeed you're right. Depression has nothing to do with recognizing this fact.
If I were you I'd go to http://youtube.com and watch some Advaita talks
