Look for a key on your keyboard that says "Insert" or "overwrite". Try pressing this key 1 time, and then try it again. It should resolve the issue.

you might have the "insert" on. To turn it off hit the key labeled "Insert"...that should help.

if you are in word it will tell you if you have insert on....down below the area where you are typing there is a bar that shows if you have the caps on ...if you have the insert on it will be highlighted...ie darker then the other words there...

I really hope I helped even a little. Good Luck
