Keep a bit of space between you until he feels better. That means no kissing etc, whereby you can be in contact with his germs. Don't share drinking glasses, and wash your hands regularly. This helps keeping the germs from infecting you. I don't believe there is any risk for your pregnancy.

Do not get a Flu Vaccine,.. I bet alot of people are ready to tell you that,.. but do not get one (linked to causeing problems with the child, though not physical.... they can be life long problems).

Keep that Folic Acid consumption UP.

One thing here that is posible that you may over look,.. you have already been exposed to your husband while the flu could be spread,.. you may have the Flu soon,.. because it's already in your system,.. it takes days or a week for the symptoms to start up.

If you can you might want to spend some time at your parents, a friends, family, a hotel,.. a motel,.. just to get away from him while he is sick. You can not do the reverse because everything is already covered in stuff from him being in your home,... so if he leaves the stuff is still there that can make you sick.

Stay calm,.. relax,.. eat and eat and eat,... if you can,.. the more you eat now,.. the more your body can guard you from the flu and kick it out if it tried to get in.

Lots and lots of handwashing for both of you. He is touching things in the house and spreading germs. Make sure you do not touch your hands to your mouth after touching things like the remote control, doorknobs, etc. Spray these things with Lysol and that includes the faucets, etc. Make sure you wash everything he uses like glasses, etc in very hot water if you wash by hand. If you have a dishwasher with sanitizing cycle use it. Or better yet how about disposable cups.

Kissing, snuggling, etc is off limits. Stay away from him as much as possible, I know it sounds horrific but it's true. Perhaps you can sleep in separate rooms. I would also ask him to stick to one bathroom and you use the other one.

Chances are though you already have the virus and will come down with it shortly. He was contagious long before he started to show flu symptoms. If you do try to stay as hydrated as possible. You can take Tylenol to keep your fever down. Don't take aspirin or aspirin based products. That includes no pepto bismol. Other than too high a fever or getting dehydrated there really aren't any other complications that could effect the baby!

I am the mother of 3. I actually had the flu while pregant as well as my children and hubby were sick while I was pregnant. I would suggest keeping distance to try to stay healthy. Take prenatal vitamins and don't forget to drink orange juice. You can also get your husband to lysol the home to kill germs that are lingering around. I tried not to use sprays or cleaners if I didn't have to while pregnant. Make sure that you are washing your hands constantly as well as your husband.
Hopes this helps and hope you stay healthy. If you do get a fever or sick make sure to call your doctor right away.

Wash your hands, a lot! Make sure he washes his hands too, esp. after coughing, sneezing, etc. Instant hand sanitizers are also a pretty good idea. Vitamin C (found in most fruits and in orange juice) helps boost your immune system. Try to get 500 mg's per day. As with other viruses, influenza can be passed from person to person long before symptoms are present; your Hubie's flu was contagious before he was even sick. Your threat of becoming ill is greatly reduced by good hygiene, balanced diet, and a germ-free climate (try using Lysol or something similar to kill germs and bacteria).

Hi, im 9 months pregnant and suffering from a headcold myself at the moment. If you havent been immunised then there is nothing that can be done to prevent yourself from getting sick apart from maybe taking Zinc supplements - zinc builds immunity for both you and baby so its good for both of you. I wouldnt recommend taking it by itself tho. Try taking as a multivitamin that way you and baby both get what your body needs.

Ive been sick now for 3 days and i have no idea where i got this from. It wont harm me or my baby ive been told, you just need to keep your fluid levels up and drink a fair bit of water, i take my multivitamin (pregnancy vitamins by the way), and i keep juice and tylenol (tylenol is the only safe medication to use and is great for reducing fever). I also make sure i get plenty of rest and eat healthy. Eventually it will go away of its own accord.

Stay away from him as much as possible. Sleep in another room. Wash your hands often and he must wash his too. I'd even use a different bathroom, if possible. When he's better, he should clean the bathroom, wash the sheets and blankets, not you.

Go to the doctor and get a mask. You can wear it or your husband can wear it. It really helps with the air bourne germs.
