Probably indigestion. Twiced I embarrassed myself in the ER with terrible chest pains only to have them give me Pepto in the end.
I pray that's your problem and not anything more serious.

You are very young, I had the same issue but it was related to acid reflux, it used to happen when I ate a big meal at night specially if it was something spicy, what this is, is your stomach producing too much acid to digest the food, when you lay down, some of that acid escapes up to your esophagus (if I spelled that right) and it causes a pain in the chest close to your heart, that could be your problem.
I wish you all of the health in the world :)

Any type of chest pain needs to be addressed ASAP by a doctor, sixteen years young or not. He/She can also give you something if it is muscle related.

i would go to your doctor about your concerns...just because you are 16 doesn't mean you can't be at risk for a heart attack or heart problems...this could be a congenital (you're born with it) effect that you or your parents are not aware of...like a heart murmur (hole in your heart)...there are so many other things it could be that could end in a heart attack if left untreated by a doctor..so get it checked out

it can be from stress, indigestion, or some sort of tear/sprain. if youre really worried about it, i wold recommend seeing a doctor! thats my rule of thumb, if its worth worrying about, its worth seeing a doctor about!
