Seeing how I don't know you or your situation, A scholarship would have convinced them that you really wanted to go away to college for an education. Try a couple of years on the dean's list and you might get them to rethink it.

It kinda depends on who is paying for you to go to school. If you have a scholarship and will have your own means for paying for personal stuff while your away, all I can really say is your parents need to let go. They need to see that your actually going to University. You want to have a good life/career. They need to know what it is exactly it is that you want in life. Some parents have a hard time seeing their kids go aay for school. Especially if its so far from home. Just tell them what you want and explain that you can be home for holidays and some weekends (if you live close enough). They cant hold onto you forever.

Unless you have no money and that is why they are against it that is not right its your choice so go to the school that you want not your parents
