If they are both females, they will fight. Get them spayed. The older one is trying to tell the younger one that that is her house and she is in charge. You have to be the pack leader and you have to be in charge. Watch the Dog Whisperer on National Geographic TV. He is wonderful.

Sounds pretty normal! I have all females of various breeding and ages here, all rescued. They can get carried away at times but none get hurt. It is very normal for the older dog to "train" the younger and set the ground rules of the house. My girls are training a 5 month old pup right now. They mother it but also let it know when overstepping.
This is also normal for a mom and her litter to behave this way and none actually get hurt. It sounds worse than it is. If either one gets tired of the game they will quit and seperate themselves. And neosporine is used by vets for any "nip" that might draw blood.
Make sure you are interacting with both and helping the playing to stay "nice" but no real need to seperate unless they are getting really wound up/excited.
And the workout is good for the older dog actually. Kind of like getting a new lease on life.

They are probably try to sort out who is the dominant dog or they may just be playing with each other pretty hard. The snarling probably isn't aggressive. It's normal for dogs to wrestle and rough house. Don't worry. But if your dogs aren't spayed or neutered then thats the problem.

I have two female boxers and NOW they get along great... the smaller one I had since she was a pup... they are now 2yrs old... I recently introduced another female into the household (kinda crazy I know) but they did fight at first... but YOU HAVE TO BE THE PACK LEADER.... be agressive towards that behavior... basically let them know.. if there is gona be ANY *** kicking.. its going to be ME on YOU!!!... they will learn eventually... just break them up and stand over the one that is being more agressive for about a minute... to let them know YOU are in charge.... after about a couple weeks.. theyre best friends...

If you don't feel like they're play-fighting, it might be the dominance or alpha female issue. The older one is trying to get the younger one to submit to her, the younger one is trying to get her two cents in.
Spaying does not always work.
Make sure they both have your attention. When giving out treats, make sure the older one is the first one to receive it. Same with greetings after you've come home from work or school.

if their each wagging their tails it's fine i have a lab and i just got a jack russell terrier puppy they like to "fight" but that is how they play occasionally i have to break them up because my jack won't stop and she doesn't cosider herself at all little and because my lab doesn't realize how big she is ....luckily my lab is very tolerant and only mouths her when the puppy is getting out of control...i think if you give them more time to adapt to each other they will soon become great friends

They are just play fighting!! dogs do that. They are not being vicious. Maybe you could teach them to be a bit nicer and stop playing but that would be bad! dogs play

pupies like to play alot & your older dog is probably annoyed by it/also the older dog feels that her space in the house is envaded by the pup / they will work out their differences sooner or later be patient with them
