A starving rabbit came upon a farmer’s lettuce garden which was surrounded by a picket fence. The rabbit knew that he must eat soon or he would die. The problem the rabbit faced was that he could barely squeeze through the fence even in his hungry condition. If he were to go inside and eat the lettuce, he would be too fat to escape should the farmer come by. The other problem facing the rabbit was that the lettuce was too large to push through the fence. How could the rabbit manage to eat the lettuce and still be able to escape?

The rabbit goes through the fence and pushes the lettuce over toward the fence. He then squeezes back outside and eats the lettuce through the fence.

Couldnt the rabbit eat a little bit of the lettuce so that it fits into the fence? Because i know that even when the rabbit eats, it doesnt grow right away. It takes hours for that to happen.

hope this helps a little :)

There is an opening in the fence for the rabbit to go in and out of.

Use the open gate, OR since rabbits dig holes, tunnelling under the fence shouldn't be a problem either.

He could go in the field and live there happily munching forever and ever, cunningly avoiding the farmer every time he drops by, with stealth and of course camouflaging himself with lettuce leaves.
