It started out that way. Women only broke into the professional culinary fields in the early 1900's. There's a great book on this called "Perfection Salad". It's really a good read on the sociological influences that helped women get out of the home and be able to work in a "man's world".

because that way, when married, they can do all the cooking instead of the old fashioned way of the woman staying at home and doing it..this is the new millinium..men can cook..its great..
