what should i do about a rumor?????

theres a rumor goin around my school and they are saying that i "did it" with my bf at a halloween party :( and it is'nt true!! and im scared that he will find out and get mad at me!! :( what should i do????????

The only thing you can do is to laugh out loud whenever the subject comes up. In fact, you should go to a couple of friends and say, "Did you hear the rumour about me?" Then laugh.

First go call him or something and say "Hey! Did you know that people are talking about us saying that we did it at a Halloween party?" Then go talk to a friend and say that if she's heard that rumor it's totally false. Make sure you pick a friend that a lot of people tell gossip to so that she can say "Actually I talked to her and she says it's not true, and her boyfriend says the same thing" Much luck to ya honey!

Why would he get mad? The best thing to do is outlive the rumor. I would tell him the rumor you heard and make kind of a joke out of it. It's hard to deal with something like that, but take my word for it, it will get easier. By outliving it, it won't take long for them to be talking about someone else. Keep your chin up!! Ignore it. If someone actually has the balls to ask you directly, deny it and tell them to mind their business. If someone is a jerk about it, kick their @ss. If your boyfriend finds out about it, tell him it's just a rumor and you don't know who started it. You can't control how rumors start and your boyfriend shouldn't expect you to. If your boyfriend gives you any crap about it, dump him and go out with someone else.

It doesn't get any better once you get out into the workforce. Trust me. It's better to learn to not let people bully you or gang up on you now. Either ignore rumors and gossipy people, or learn to kick some @ss and put a stop to it early.

Ignore it completely. Don't even try to convince other people that it's not true. People spread gossip about other people because it makes themselves look better, and it puts you down. If you act like you are not affected by it, and just laugh it off, then the rumor will quickly stop spreading.

You don't even have to talk to your boyfriend about it.

Get your friends to squash that rumour. Ask them that everytime they hear someone say it, to just say, "Pfft, that's not true!". Go talk to your boyfriend and say something like, "Did you hear that stupid rumour that you and I did it at that Halloween party? Man, where do they come up with this crap?" and see how he takes it.

Or, just wait a while, and eventually, they'll start talking about someone else.

Why should he get mad at you?????? you didnt start the rumor. Just tell him what are they saying and that you feel bad and dont know what to do that way he knows you are worried about it

tell him there is a rumor going around and that youre worried.
if he knows youre saying its not true, he wont get mad at you when he hears it from someone else.
just make sure you tell him before someone else does!
but what you may not like is, since he is a guy- he may like the fact that people are saying yall did it and his guy friends may like, congradulate him.
it could go both ways, but whichever- say something.

don't give them (haterz) the satisfaction of thinking that you care about the "trash" that they are telling everyone. just let your bf know what is being said and just let it go. the more attention you give them, the more they're going to continue to spread rumors. as long as you and your bf know it ain't true, that's all that matters. be happy:)

stand your ground tell the truth and ignore people who keep it up. If your bf is real about his feelings for you he'll tell the truth as well, not get mad
