why do you want to reduce carbon?... anyway.. you can unplug anything that you are not using... even if they are off... reduce the amount of lighbulbs you have in your ligh fixtures... cook a soup to warm up your house... get more blankets...(warmer clothing) and only use the heater when you are home(leave it at a comfortable setting in when you are away) spend more time in public places that have heat(so you dont have your heater or A/C on at home)... cuddle... exercise...wash a full load of clothes so you dont wash small amounts frequently... JUST BE NIFTY WITH WHAT YOU TURN ON....

Make sure that you turn your heating system and air conditioning units to the minimum degree to make you comfortable. Turn off all lights that you don't use. Ask someone about your computer. It may be better to keep in on all of the time, or not, depending on how often you are on it.

Also, most importantly, if you have any devices that respond to a remote control, like tv's, dvd players, cd players, unplug them when they are not in use. In order to be able to respond to the remote control to switch on, they must be in a state of constant stand-by. I know it's a pain in the butt, (blame the a** holes who designed them) but it saves a lot of energy.
