Does anyone have experience with this breed and how it gets along with other small pets.

Weimaraners are a highly energetic breed and you can't give them too much exercise. They are also not at all a good choice for a novice dog owner because they require someone capable of being a strong leader. Many of them have a tendency towards aggression with other animals - they are sporting dogs and would not be a very good choice around cats.

They are very easy going dogs.

It is often easier to introduce a puppy to cats then it is a kitten to a dog. You should be just fine as long as you slowly intergrate the pup into the cats lifestyle.

Remmeber the cats were there first, you should cater to them so they don't view the puppy as a threat or competition.

You can do this by keeping the puppy in a seperate room for a while and slowly allowing the cats to come in and check him out. Cats love everything being by their own terms, as I'm sure you know!

While Weims are very smart and friendly, they are generally not tolerant of smaller fluffy animals. I have heard of Weims that get along with cats, and mine is neutral to the cats he encounters. But, I have always been warned not to have smaller animals around the breed since their hunting instinct is so strong.

I have never found tham "easy going" at all. They tend to be very active and high strung. They need a lot of exercise and I know people who have them and they LOVE to chase anything that moves!!! They are a hunting dog!!!!
