cat's aren't supposed to like water...right?....can somebody please tell me why my 6 month old kitten lllliks water!! the water from the shower is constantaly dripping slightly. He goes into the shower and plays... and when somebody leaves some water in the bath tub he jumps in and plays... ?WHY?... he comes out and I have to clean up the whole bathroom from his fun...

Hi there...some cats do find water fascinating to them. It's not rare, but not common either. One of my kitty's loves to shower with me as well as flush the toilet to water swirl away after using the toilet (he's toilet trained).

My cats take baths very other week. They don't really like it but they don't fight much because they're used to it now. When I first started bathing them they wouldn't even come near the bathroom. Now that they are used to it they always want to come in when I'm taking a bath, I've even had to keep one from jumping in with me. However, they do not like the sound of the shower water running.

my cat is the same way - he even likes taking baths in my sink (as long as the water drips)
cats still don't like swimming etc, but some cats are not afraid of water, whilesome dogs hate it.
enjoy it, tape it on video, post it on youtube and have fun with it! just make sure he does not get into the soaps and shampoos
and towels on the floor help reducing wet cat prints everywhere... I learned my lesson. oh, and make sure your toilet lid is always closed! :))

I have a cat. He doesnt really care when we give him a bath. He'll get tense and he'll act like he's dieing just to make you stop. So I dont think cats like water that much. But the urkish van is a pet cat who likes the water. They hunt in water and play in it too.

Oh that is so cute! My bengal cat, Reigna, used to like to wade in bath water while I was taking a bath. Bengal cats are 1/4 Asian leopard, so maybe the 25% leopard is why. But, she grew out of it. Maybe your kitten will grow out of it eventually. But, that is so cute how your kitten likes water!

some cats love water the dripping shower is like a toy to him he will play with water from a hose if you play outside with him

Some cats like water. We have one that loves to play in the water in the bathtub and to drink water from the tap.

Yup, I'm not going to type it again, but I just answered something like this under a question about cute things cats do. I have two who absolutely love to play with running water. Unless they are traumatized by it, as in spray bottles, cats can be quite water friendly.

My cat likes water. She doesn't let stepping in it, but she likes hanging out in the shower when I'm in there, and she likes sitting by the sink and hitting the water as it pours out the faucet.

All cats are different. I knew a cat that always slept in the sink in the bathroom, he loved the slippery feeling. That is so cute!!
Yeah, he probably just likes water.
