My cat Circuit has a couple of curious habits. Whenever she purrs, she drools. She's done it since I got her at 6 weeks old. At first I thought something might be wrong with her mouth, but the vet said she's a picture of health and it's just something that some cats do. I always warn people when they come over that if Circuit gets in your lap, prepare to get wet! She's my official greeter and visitor inspector. Her second oddity is she likes to sit on my shoulders, like a pirate's parrot. When I'm at my computer, watching tv, reading, anything that I have to sit down to do she comes running and scrambles up onto my shoulders. This is always followed by purring, resulting in cat drool in my hair. I've had many cats throughout my life but never one with either of these quirks, and now I've got a cat with them both! Isn't great how unique cats are!? What sorts of funny habits do your cats have? Are there any other drooling, shoulder fiends?

I love that I don't have the world's only aqua-cat! My cat Austin loves water. Ever since he was a kitten he is facinated with faucets & toilets. There were many a morning that I would turn around in the shower to be facing a wet ball of orange fluff. He's as happy as a clam to be wet! He is also my resident "foster parent". When I brought Circuit home he babied her like crazy. If she would cry, he'd come running from where ever he would be to nuzzle her. He did that for my sister's kitten that I babysat for a couple of months too. He's a lover, not a fighter. My oldest cat Koko has a naughty habit of tearing up the toilet paper when he is mad at me. He is addicted to cat nip (he will pull open drawers & doors to get at if if he can smell it) but his most endearing trait is that he sleeps with me every, single night. He lays right next to me with his head on the pillow and likes to be covered. It's been our tradition for 13 years.

I forgot to add that Austin has an obsession with shiny objects. One day I will find his secret hidding spot and will recover all of the lost nail clippers, rings, nail files, nickles/dimes, chains, and whatever else has caught his eye that he has stowed away. My boyfriend works on computers and Austin is always there waiting to swipe an unattended screw. Knock on wood, he's never swallowed anything. He just likes to hide them.

My old cat was declawed in the front, so he learned to climb stuff (trees, fences, our walls) backwards. Pulling himself up with his HIND paws. It was freaky to see, this upsidown cat clinging to the wall.

my brand new kitty Shaitan is simmilar. He cant help climbing up onto my shoulders and grooming my hair or sitting on my chest and grooming my nose. He was actually grooming my nose last nite and when i got up i noticed that he had removed about 8 blackheads! I'm thinking of patenting the idea! haha

I took him for a drive the other day and he just looooved sitting between my shoulders and the car seat, partly to stop the movement and partly so he could play with my neck.

But above all this the most GORGEOUS thing I have ever experienced with a kitty happened yesterday morning. I am off work for two weeks so am enjoying sleeping in. At about 730 my girlfriend goes to work and i ask her to leave the door open a little so he can come lay with me a while. He did yesterday and he laid on my chest and put his cute lil feets over my eyes to block the sunlight and went to sleep!!!!!

Apart from that he things he's people and my friends all think its odd that someone like me would treat him like one.

LOL to all the stories. I have a kitten (4 months old) and he LOVES to sit on my laptop while i'm playing a game, working, or trying to answer questions on Yahoo!. I'll move him off but he comes right back. He also likes to ride on my shoulder(s) especially in the car because he hates carriers for some reason but is getting better.
I was very tempted to name him Carrot (Cat Parrot) when we found him abandoned at 5 weeks because he would cry until I put him on my shoulders and let him hide in my hair. He's soo adorable though! I love him :) His name is Bruce, formally known as Bella hehehe... that's a funny story too.
His newest craze is coming and laying on my chest now (instead of the laptop) until I lean back in my reclining chair so he can lay with his head just under my chin and all curled up watching me play and type away. LOL he's soo silly!

Your cat sounds so cute! My cat drools also when I pet her. When I scratch her back she starts to lick the air or chew (love bites) on the fleshy part of my thumb and she won't stop until I stop scratching. Another cat loves to sleep on my book when I'm studying, I can push him off but he'll edge his way back. He also likes to sit on my lap while I'm on the computer. Only when I'm on the computer any other time I'm sitting he won't. I use to have a very old cat that was declawed and before falling asleep on my back she would give a long massage, walk around in circles and then bury her head in my hair which tickled like crazy. Cats really are wonderful creatures.

I have 2 cats (they are sisters). If I go shopping and bring home a bag of cat food they will get in the grocery bag and tear the cat food bag open if I don't put it in the cabinet right away. Also, about 2 months ago I thought I had a mouse in the cabinet eating the cat food. Turns out it was the kitties. They opened the door went in and helped themselves, even if their bowl was full. I ended up having to put a lock on the cabinet door.

I have 2 brother cats and they are hilarious. Whenever I pack a pack of smokes, Kitty Kitty comes running & wants to chase & chew on the plastic part you tear off. And Lil Guy chases shadows...yup...I said shadows...he will actually sit by a wall that has allot of light on it but the room is otherwise dim & he will wait until I put my hand in a circle making a shadow & he go's crazy chasing it all over. He has actually meowed at the wall..like he's calling the shadows. But they are the most protective big brothers when it comes to Cottontail my bunnygirl.

costly Anne, Sounds as in case your cat likes to play in the water. I also have a cat that still has to the touch the water (i assume it particularly is to be certain there is a few in the bowl because of the fact the bowls are white) my different cat does not look involved in water in any respect. it particularly is recommended to place a number of paper towels below the bowl so it could help contain the spilled water. I even have discovered this facilitates even though it is not through my cat it particularly is often myself who accidentally steps to close and hits the bowl. I had a spectacular cat years in the past (no longer with me) who demanded to have a small stream of water come from the faucet so she could permit it run down her front leg and lick the water off, she enjoyed touching water and licking it off her paw, she would additionally merely drink from the stream whilst ever any human beings went into the bathing room and bounce up on the counter and wait and would particularly permit you realize verbally until eventually you grew to become on the water. Ya merely gotta love 'em!!! So Anne, i desire is is of a few help to you and robust luck with the spills, the towels do help alot. superb of luck.

Hi there...my goodness are cats must be twins. I have a boy kitty who always needs to perch on my shoulders too. In the summertime when we go for walks he loves riding on my shoulders to get a bird's eye view of everything around us. He also loves to flush the toilet to watch the water swirl away after he uses the toilet (he's toilet trained) as well as take showers with me.

A cat i had at one time did drool a lot, he always loved being pet but he would drool EVERYWHERE when you pet him, he would make a puddle on the floor if u pet long enough. My cat now its older, shes 18 years but i got her when she was a baby, I had to leave for college and left her behind, she runs around our house looking distraught, confused and alone, when i come home she won't stop licking my face and neading me at night! Its hilarious, i love cats!

Awww, your kitty sounds cute!

My cat Richard is waaay too big to sit on my shoulder, but sometimes he does drool when he's purring--usually because I'm brushing or scratching him.

One weird thing he does--Sometimes after he uses the cat box, he scrambles around the apartment at breakneck speed, yowling!
