I have often thought of making them w/out the chips. Just get a bag of Nestle Tollhouse Choc chips....make the recipe and leave out the chips...then use the chips for something else another time.
Let me know how they turn out...

Take a recipe for chocolate chip cookies and just omit the chocolate chips. They taste wonderful. I have a friend that is allergic to chocolate and he absolutely loves them.

Just leave out the chips! I did it once for a picky child that I was babysitting. Watch them closely at the end of cooking time. If you want them chewy, take them out while they still give a little to a light touch. If you like them crispier, cook them the full time.
This particular child said she liked cinnamon, so we dusted cinnamon sugar on some and they tasted like snickerdoodles.
