There are no female priests in the Catholic Church.

Reason (Justification):
1. Priest are "in persona christi" which means in the person of Christ. It also means that a Priest is a representation of Jesus Christ.

2. Secondly, priesthood is apostolic. Jesus Christ chosed 12 apostles. Why 12 males? Why no females? However, does that mean that females are no good? Does that mean that female cannot be as great a males? No. For there are no distinction between male and female, priest or non-priest for we are all parts of the whole body of Christ with Jesus Christ as the head. For the hand cannot tell the leg that it is greater. We all have our own purpose and serving and loving the Lord our God.

Jesus Christ came down to earth in the form of a man (male). WHY? Please ask God about it. Otherwise, we can see Female priest in the Catholic Church.

God made Jesus Christ a male and not female. Therefore, whatever Christ is, the priest must be.

For example, if Christ is not married, the priest is not married. If Christ is male, then priest is male. If Christ preaches, then priest do preaching.

However, in the protestant church, the pastor is not "in the person of Christ". The pastor is mainly a preacher. Because the pastor is only a preacher in the name of Christ therefore there is nothing wrong for a female to be a pastor. A pastor can also marry because he/she is only an instrument of God to preach and to take care of God's sheeps and lambs on earth.

In summary, we are all part of the big picture and we are all equal in God's eyes.

The Catholic Church has Priests not Pastors. The Catholic Church also has Nuns. I honestly couldn't tell you why. It's one of those double standard Catholic oddities that makes religion whacky and fun.

There is no justification. The supposed hierarchy of 'God, Jesus, Man, Woman, Child, Animal' isn't at all supported by scripture. Ignorant misinterpretations of scripture and previously held gender biases were what led to the common church practice of keeping women in the background of religious leadership. Check out 'Ten Lies the Church tells Women' (for christians) by J. Lee Grady. It has scriptural references and logical explanations of them. The Bible contains stories of many women who refused to submit to male leadership and preached/etc .... and usually the women are praised by other church leaders for following the 'will of God' in their lives.

I'm Catholic, and I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a Christian denomination that didn't have some form of doctrine and/or dogma. For instance, if you go to the official website of nearly any Christian group, there will be a "Beliefs" or "What We Believe" section. That's where you'll find their doctrine spelled out.

the Bible says that women should be silent in church, and if they have a question, they should ask their husband or father afterward....it's messed up....

1 Corinthians 14:34-35
34 Women should be silent during the church meetings. It is not proper for them to speak. They should be submissive, just as the law says. 35 If they have any questions to ask, let them ask their husbands at home, for it is improper for women to speak in church meetings. NLT
