I have a bit of guy trouble...(Guys please answer, girls are okay, too.)?

Question

11/20/06 -- So, I have this guy friend, and he always flirts with me. Majorly. All the time, whenever we're together...and I really like him. I'm quite shy and reserved about most things, and I worry because we go to different schools. I don't want to ask him to go out with me yet, because my parents want me to wait another six months before I officially date anyone...group dates only. Would it be uncool to ask him anyway? He has told me directly that he would go out with me if I asked him, but for reasons I can't explain, I still can't do it...I'm confused and I don't know what to do!

11/27/06 -- Alright, all of the sudden, this guy now has a girlfriend. But I thought he liked me...he even took me to homecoming! What's the deal?

You obviously waited too long and another girl took the opportunity and swept him off his feet. Its ok though, you're just gonna have to act faster and not be hesitant next time. I know this from experience and I know how it feels when you like somebody and they like you but then someone else comes along. Plus, he may still have feelings for you and if his current relationship doesn't work out, you know what to do.......

wow.. sorry dear. sounds like a bit of trouble I got myself into as well, only he never had a girlfriend. Just talk to him. You can't expect a guy to wait around forever. I had a guy that I was friends with, and we were always together. It was always just like an unwritten rule that wherever we went, he would save me seat next to him or whatever. We flirted all the time, and people always just assumed we were together. Anyways, I am really shy, especially when it comes to subjects like this. I never really got the courage up to talk to him, but I did finally text him. Although we never ended up together, I at least found out where I fit in with him. If nothing else, at least text him or email him or somethin. You'd be surprised at what could happen!

Sounds like you were just scared to change things and hesitated. And it also sounds like the guy got tired of waiting and moved on. Hate to say it but you may have missed your chance by not taking the multiple opportunities presented to you.

you never asked him. not that you should have been put in that position to do so, but the conversation must have come up, and you must have initiated it, somehow, so that must have put you in the position that you're pursuing him, or would if given the chance, and you didn't, or should have, and so on and so forth. it was a really slick way of his asking you, indirectly, but, knowing how you feel, he shouldn't have went forward with the girlfriend so if he did, and doesn't respect how you feel, then he wasn't worth having anyway.

and if he doesn't understand why you wouldn't want to talk or be bothered with him now, given the circumstances, then he really, really isn't worth it to begin with.
