Um....no brain, no pain??
Seriously, the mind can do some absolutely incredible things, including increased pain tolerance. Other than being dramatic, though, I can't see how this helps him much. I mean if he were sleeping, and he got assaulted by a couple of Ninja Cheerleaders leaping upon him from chairs- he'd be ALL OVER that. What I'd like to see is whether he can get himself into this meditative state quickly enough for it to be helpful in a fight and whether it would do him any good.

Dude didn't you ask this EXACT SAME QUESTION like a week ago?

it's conditioning, he prob'ly conditioned himself to take hits to the stomache like that, and combine that with sharp exhaling on impact helps to lessen the pain.

I've had people jump on my stomach. 1 demo I do is to have someone (up to 170#) stand on my stomach while I do abdominal breathing.
