There are so many contradictions and mistakes within the text, it is not possible that the angel Gabriel gave this book to Muhammed.

It's plain to see.. from grammatical/spelling errors in the Arabic to out right contradictions of the Bible (which the Quran claims not to contradict).

How is this so?

How can this book come from heaven and be filled with so many errors?

For instance it is written within the Quran that it cannot be translated into any other language. But it clearly has been... one of many glaring errors.

If Islam is the path to salvation... God's word must be imperfect.

"You haven't even read the Quran so what are you ranting on about, the Quran is perfect but i guess to you the truth hurts"

No it isn't and primary problem with Islam's followers is their extreme blind faith.

Catch them in a debate and it becomes circular in nature, since they've been brainwashed into believing that it's 'perfect'.

"I don't see any contradicions in the Quran, where are these contradictions?"

Someone posted a fine list of examples, I suggest you take a look.

Oh and it is stated in the Quran that it cannot contradict the Bible... it clearly does and it's not surprising given that Muhammed borrowed concepts fron Gnostic Christians.

The Quran is a book that is full of mistakes, is nowhere near perfect (there is no such thing by the way) and was made to control people and gain wealth. Mohammad was a robber at first, nobody in Mecca ever liked him. He was always spiritualy active.. He gained control over some people by using false religious claims, that an angel had visited him and given him all sorts of information. And people close to him started believing in him. His wife was the first believer. Later in his life he would change the word of god to what he sees fit at that time in his life. The word of god basically bended to his will.

There are not many, but some written texts on Mohammad and what he did in his life, from third parties. There are some interesting documentaries to watch on YouTube, the actual decent and scientific ones of course. And not the Islamic propaganda made with movie maker and some songs, that you'll sometimes find on there.

Whether he wrote or did not write the Quran, it remains false today in any case. We aren't made of clay, we don't create sperm in our spine, or any of the other nonsense that Mohammad said in his lifetime. The more scientific research and proof we get, (for example, evolution) the more this holy book and anyone believing it marginalizes him or herself.

And if you really care about the truth, educate yourself,
look at the science instead of living in ignorance of the facts.
Otherwise, just shut up. You're not saying anything new here.

I do understand most of you are brainwashed into it from birth...
But believing something without evidence is plain stupid.

Flaws and imperfections can be found anywhere if one looks closely. In Genesis, during creation, we read that God created the firmament. What is a firmament?

from the Vulgate firmamentum, which is used as the translation of the Hebrew _raki'a_. This word means simply "expansion." It denotes the space or expanse like an arch appearing immediately above us. They who rendered _raki'a_ by firmamentum regarded it as a solid body. The language of Scripture is not scientific but popular, and hence we read of the sun rising and setting, and also here the use of this particular word. It is plain that it was used to denote solidity as well as expansion. It formed a division between the waters above and the waters below (Gen. 1:7). The _raki'a_ supported the upper
reservoir (Ps. 148:4). It was the support also of the heavenly bodies (Gen.1:14), and is spoken of as having "windows" and "doors" (Gen. 7:11; Isa. 24:18; Mal. 3:10) through which the rain and snow might descend.
We know there are no windows and doors in the sky. Does this render the Bible null and void?

As far as translating the Quran, Whenever it is printed, in whatever language, the original language is also printed. Therefore its "purity" remains intact.

As a Christian, I do not believe that the Quran is the Holy Book, but I will not belittle it or the people who follow its teaching. I can disagree, but they have the right to their beliefs.

Peace

The terms that make up any bible are all still open to interpretation. The Quran is no exception. It all depends on who's records are used and the interpretation of that language. I'm sure all the Christian bibles are off a tad as well. However, we don't see government officials as infidels. :>), which is a question that is always raised for some reason. I have a Catholic Bible from the late 1940's...a gift from my family when my parents passed away. It is a little different than the King James version because King James left out many endings to the books that were written in full to the older Catholic versions AND some books are left out of the King James entirely, and are in the Catholic version. So, I guess it just depends on of what faith, the writer's source and the language interpretations. We can't know for sure which errors are in what record...all we can do is try to put it all together.

God's words are not imperfect...it is US who misconstrues their meanings. Any faith in God, which is not of violence or hatred, and a belief that Christ died for our sins and that with the Holy Spirit they are 'one.'...then there is perfect salvation for all.

It says it can't be adequately translated to any other language. Nothing really can. If you translate Shakespeare to modern English, much of the meaning and at least half of the beauty is lost. Even more so with the Quran. Reading it in translation is useful for those who do not understand Arabic adequately, but its like reading the Cliffs Notes.

It says it doesn't contradict the teachings of the previous prophets, not that it doesn't contradict the writings of the biblical authors. Which books of the bible were actually written down by their purported authors?

I don't know of any errors. Can you point one out please?

2006-11-27 11:20:03 · answer #5 · answered by Smiley 5 · 1 2

Yes the Quran can not be translated accurately into any other language, but obviously it needs to be as accurate as possible so that people who can not speak arabic can understand it. But even so, a lot of people CAN read the arabic of it.

I don't see any contradicions in the Quran, where are these contradictions? And you claim they are in arabic? Can you read arabic? Obviously if we thought the Bible was correct we wouldn't need the Quran, you expect for them both to be exactly the same?

Well I don't see you giving me proof for ANY of all this.

Both the bible and the quran were written 1000's of years ago and even before their existance man has attempted to explain things we yet had no complete knowledge of .. and still do, but I'd say at least they did, and do, a much better job of it than I ever could. I don't like the expression much, but it's said, "to err is human".

I assume you are coming from a Christian perspective. Careful there, that is a slippery slope. While there may certainly be contradictions in Islam, there are just as many in the bible. The link lists some of them.

Here we go again.
Many folks also say that the Bible is not God's word because it's imperfect.
People who live in glass houses should not throw stones.
It's so easy to criticize others.
Try laughing at yourself sometimes; you will be wiser.
