Yes--indeed they are. It is a super way to go steady and not have that "engagement" thing hanging over your head. It is quite a nice way to say you love her and eventually want more.

I don't know, but I still have a promise ring that my best friend (male) gave me 10 years ago. We watched that movie "My Best Friends Wedding" and made a pact to get married when we turn 30 unless one of us is otherwise committed.

A lot of couples give promise rings to each other...they aren't necessary, but it is still being done.

I got two before he proposed to me. A silver one a few months into the relationship and then one with diamonds 1 year into the relationship, and a diamond engagement ring last week!

I am sure if you give her a promise ring she certainly won't throw it in your face. I think it is romantic. Unless you've been together 3 years. Then it should be an engagment ring.

I believe that any piece of jewely, given from the heart with a promise attached to it, is always in style.

I think it is something someone generally on the "younger" side do. However, I have seen a few women with a large diamond "promise" ring.

It doesn't matter if it is in. As long as it comes from your heart with genuine love, any girl is lucky to receive one.

Depends on the situation and on the person. For younger people yes they are nice. For older people they are alittle childish...esp if you two have been together for a long time. Do what feels right

does it matter if it is in? i think what really matters is how you feel. if u feel a promise ring is necessary then you should get one for your sweetie.. but there should be no pressure to get one. and only get one if u r sure u want to make that commitment! much love!!
