Hi there again Joey...cats do dream and some people will notice their cats twitching, little meows sometimes.

Many cats snore too. Here are some videos of cats who snore: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-SktVpQdPY

I have a male that snores when he sleeps. Peanut also is a little bit asthmatic. He could also be dreaming a little. You probably do not notice it as much during the day as even though they seem asleep, cats don't always go into what we would call a deep sleep. When he does which is probably when you are noticing it is when his breathing changes. Keep an eye on it and if it by chance gets worse get a second opinion. I didn't have any trouble with Peanut until I got him neutered then the anesthesia was too much. I almost lost him, but was able to nurse him back he will be 10 in May.

He may just be snoring. I have 3 cats and 2 of them snore when they are asleep. Just like people, some snore and some don't. If your kitty is a bit overweight then that can be the cause of it. (one of my snorers is a bit chubby) The other option is just what you said, he's dreaming. My dog makes the weirdest noise I've ever heard (I can't even begin to describe it!) when she is dreaming. The first time I heard it, it freaked me out! She makes that weird noise and moves her feet like she's running. Again, just like people. I hardly move at all while I'm asleep but my sister is like a hurricane! She doesn't even know that she does it until she wakes up in morning and her sheets are all twisted and her pillows are all over the floor. If your vet says he's ok, then I wouldn't worry about it. Of course, if you're really concerned then you could always get a second opinion. Good luck to you & your kitten!

I currently own two cats. One who wheezes and snores all the time (he's a little over-weight) and one who only occasionally 'snores'.
It's never been a problem but like others have said, you only need to worry if it's taking the cat too much effort to breathe.
It sounds to me like this is nothing out of the ordinary. Dreaming is definately another probability. You know the funny noise cats make when they see a bird they'd like to catch? One of my cats will make those noises in his sleep fairly regularly. I don't think you have anything to worry about...

We had 21 cats here for quite a number of years....yes, it was a whopping amount of work (7- litter- pans- all- in- a- row). Anyway, most of them slept quietly, but, we had 3 that would yelp like puppies, and 1 that "snarled".
There's no need to worry about noises - EXCEPT- if his rib cage sucks in really hard & rapid- like he's really working to inhale!

It might be a kind of "kitty-snore". I have a cat who breathes really deeply when he sleeps and it sounds like a really nasal snore. He breathes perfectly normally when he is awake, but as soon as he falls asleep, he snores like you wouldn't believe.

As long as your vet checked him out and said he is OK, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Could he have allergies to what he is sleeping on? My cat snores sometimes, depending on how active he has been during the day.Could he be purring?
Mine purrs when he sleeps too.

He's most likely dreaming. Mine will breathe funny, make noises, and twitch his feet. Watch his eyes also, if you see them twitching, he's dreaming. Don't worry, he's ok.

my cat used to snore. so does my dog, so it may be that. and if your vet said there´s nothing wrong with him then it´s probably that.
