When I have been off my feet but especially when I first get out of bed in the morning, I am in pain when I walk. My feet feel like they have been crushed in a vice! The pain subsides to a slight ache after a minute.
I had tests-no vitamin deficiency or anything.

It could be to do with bad circulation, that's why it gets better when you move about.

Hello.....It could be a number of factors:-

Poor Circulation. Somehow while your feet are up n resting your blood vessels are trying to work harder to get the blood around your feet. So ofcourse in the mornings your feet have lacked the sufficent amount of blood during the night so causeing you pain when you stand on them. Standing and Walking around helps to pump the blood to your feet.

Do you get swallon ankles/feet during the day or if your on your feet for a ceratin length of time??
If this is the case you have a build up of water in and around your feet/ankles. Water tablets help to reduce this but you should go see your GP about this first.

Another factor could be that while you are asleep (unknowing to you) your crossing your legs. If this is the case or if this is how you sleep anyway, you will be restricting the blood flow and this will cause you pain in the morning.

As a tip you can buy black pepper oil from a health shop and add 10 drops of this into a bowl of water. warm but not too hot. Black Pepper oil is used in Aromatherapy to stimulate circulation. Soak your feet in the water for approx 20minutes every morning when you first get up and just before bed. See if this helps. Or you can add 5 drops of this oil into 4 teaspoons of a carrier oil (also brought in health shop) and massage it into your feet all over every night before bed and on waking.

Do you have poor circulation, or are you sleeping with your legs crossed or bent, the hands and feet are the worst affected by poor circulation, if you are crossing or bending your legs in bed you may be pinching the blood vessels, and when you get up they start to open again causing pain, you know like when you have been kneeling for a long time.

I have this every morning. I think it must be because I am on my feet from 7am till 3pm every day! Ps just seen above and I know I sleepwalk, no wonder I feel like I never stop and get a proper rest!

If you wear heels a lot, then don't wear them so much. It could be tendonitis, and you should take Advil or Motrin (has an anti-inflamatory agent in it). It could be poor circulation or possibly falling arches. A podiatrist would be able to pinpoint the issue and give proper treatment.

Join the club. I have trouble walking around for 2-3 minutes after I get up. Everyone else in the family looks at me like I'm weird, so thanks for making me feel better about the situation.

Have you ever thought that you may be one of those people who "sleep Walk?" You might have been standing all night and only return to bed just before you awaken.

You might want to consider that.

Do you have diabetes or some other chronic health problem? Hope you and your doctor are able to find the cause of this problem.
