Ceramic GHDs changed my life!!! I've been using them for about 6 or 7 years. They ARE expensive but they ARE amazing (also, they occassionally break after prolonged usage and you just send them back to GHD and they replace them- no receipt needed or anything!)

However, I have heard about a models 1 make.... Its cheaper but i dont know if its better. The main reason ive heard of it is because they also make the most expensive hair straighteners (£9500, diamond encrusted!). I think they DO use new technology so may be worth checking out.

If you have 'problem' hair, definitely spend more on them. The cheaper ones are fine for some extra styling for people with basically straight hair- anything more and they are RUBBISH!

Why not ask your hairdresser to use a pair on you next time you go? Thats how i discovered GHDs.

Ceramic are better, but its worth splashing out on a pair of GHD's they are the best, cost around £100 though...

Ceramic straighteners tend to pull your hair less, and cause less dead ends. If you were to buy a flat-iron buy a ceramic.

CERAMIC!!! I am an African American, and have very thick, "nappy" hair and use a CHI straightener, and it is the BEST thing that ever happened to me.
