I'm a Korean. So I'm sorry not good at english.

Korea is a small country. So if you will stay more than 5 days,
you can go almost every place in Korea.

First, Seoul is good.
when you visit here you may go "insadong"
It's very traditional place. And you also can buy korean stuff
like old korean money, korean dressed dolls.
and "myung dong" is also fantastic place. lots of Korean
young people likes here.
and "ewha womans univ. ap", "apkujung" is also like "myung dong"

Besides Seoul, "Busan" is second biggest city.
Busan is around the coast, and it's beautiful.
The famous place is "haeundae"..
and their you can also eat sasimi.

"kyungju" is a traditional city.
Whole city is made of "Han-ok", which is old korean house,

but, you must know that besides Seoul, Busan..
it is hard to ask...many koreans don't speak english.
so you may be in trouble..

And I recommend you to eat "bulgogi" or "galbi"
It's fantastic.

If you want to know more information about Korea.
you can e-mail me.

Bye-bye..^^

I lived in Korea for three years. Seoul is great. The capital in so many ways. Busan is my favorite. Tons of nightlife in the college areas and "texas" street. Cheap taxis take you anywhere in town for about 5 bucks or 12 bucks at night. Texas street also has great shopping in the day time but if you want the best shopping in korea you need to hit up Osan. There is a huge airforce base there and its famous throughout korea for great shopping. Cheju-do is a paradise almost year round. Great beaches and people. If I could recommed a tour, Go to seoul, check out the palaces and museums, head up to the DMZ and see the north korean crazies, then head south to osan(an hour or so from seoul), then further south to Busan, spend a few days enjoying the museums, the UN cemetary is cool, and the clubs(somyon, gwang-ali, and haeundae), then go to cheju-do and get pampered. You can fly from cheju-do or busan to japan and seoul. I was in the military there and just loved it. Great place.

I've been to Seoul twice this year. I like the North Seoul Tower. The first time I went in the late afternoon and stayed through til sunset. It was gorgeous and I got some great pictures. Also, check out Cheong Gye Cheon Stream. It's a lovely walk, particularly at night.

All in Seoul:
Food = Shinchon, Eedae ap, Hongdae
Hotels = Prolly Lotte. Lots of foreigners so you might feel more comfy? XD
Shopping = Shinchon/Eedae ap, Myungdong, Gangnam, Dongdaemun, Namdaemun, COEX mall, Lotte mall, Shinsaegae mall..
Clubbing = Hongdae, Gangnam
Fun = Lotte world :D

Night life...it`s bustling with people a lot...but be careful because there are crazy people at night. My math hakwon teacher almost got stabbed, but she got cut in the eye. NEVER go out at night by yourself. dangerrrous :x stay in well lit areas and always keep an eye out.

I'm Korean.

Although I'm a city person and spent 90% of my time in Seoul/Uijongbu (where my school is located), you can go to Jun-Joo (전주) for food. You must try Bi-bim-bap (비빔밥). Jun Joo is quite famous for its food, so you'll like it over there.

For shopping, try 명동 in Seoul (one of the best place to shop in Korea. You can go there easily by subway), or Coex Mall in Samsung station (삼성역).

good luck!

Served in the US Army 1972-73. I have heard that the country has evolved much since then. Roads were all dirt then; had to drive on them crossing through rice paddies. Went to Seoul once. Can't say it's the same place anymore. Sorry.
