I know this might sound crazy and believe me, it's a last resort, because I can't stand needles or blood but I've been taking 2 mg of Klonopin (Clonazepam) for 18 months now and it quit working because I built up a tolerance to it and all the doctors I see won't increase the dosage to 3 mg because they said it's a benzodiazepine and it a controlled substance. So, I have to work with what I got. If I was taking an SSRI like Paxil or Celeza they wouldn't hesitate to double the dose. I know this from experience.
but anyway, If anyone has any answers, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Brian

To Leneki,
Your answer was totally uncool.
I know that I've built up a tolerance to it because it doesn't do much for me anymore ... Duh ... and if I sould like a drug addict, you sound like a blood sucking pharmaceutical representative.

I also take Clonazepam, 2 tabs per day. Do not even attempt to try to turn it into an intravenous med. You will kill yourself. Instead please go back to your doctor and explain your situation and ask for a second benzo diazapine to be added. Some like Valium would work well for you as it is long acting like Clonazepam. If your doctor will not do this then find a doctor who will. Take care!!

Clonazepam is not meant to be used intravenously and it would only work the same as orally. I have been using it (2 mg daily as needed) for a few years now. I would go back to the doctor one more time, explain the situation. If he or she will not up the dosage see if there is another medication that could be added to your regimen that would help alleviate symptoms. If not, see about switching to another doctor. They are just really nervous about switching it since it is a narcotic and is highly addictive.

Can I ask you a question? How do you know you have built up a tolerance for this medication? What ,your not feeling it no more ,so you feel you have built up a tolerance for it. You sound like a typical drug addict,"they wouldnt hesitate to double the dose if it was paxil or celeza". I dont want to seem like I am getting on ya man ,but damn, stop crying, ya aint getting no more drugs, and your sighning a death warrant if you put that medicine up your veins. Take Care.

No, I have a tendency to take issues at face cost fairly some the time. Wait, what did you advise by that? Are you declaring what i imagine you're implying? it really is no longer very impressive to accuse me of something like that, once you do not even comprehend my aspect of the tale!

you shouldn't. you are risking putting the additives in pills into your bloodstream where there are not meant to go. you would cause an infection or embolism.
