Rosa Parks was the one who sat in the front part of the bus in Montgomery, AL, in 1955. During that time, black people were supposed to sit in the back part of the bus. When she refused to get up from her seat, she was arrested but was released later on because she didn't commit any crime. As the Civil Rights Movement was in swing, she helped launched MLK's career as the Civil Rights leader and hepled the movement get its national momentum.
