If you got him from a breeder, you should ask how much they fed them. You could also look on the bag. Usually about a 1\2-3\4 a cup, depending on how active he is. Add just a tad of warm milk. You should feed him three times daily.

I have two 6 months old black lab puppies, and they have a very healthy appetite when we picked them up from the breeder, she recomended a high quality food thats high in protien and low in fillers, she would feed them half a cup in the morning and half a cup at dinner. Check their poo, it should be nice and firm (use a plastic bag to pick them up) If its too hard, you're not feeding it much, and if its too soft and lots of poo comes out, then you're feeding it too much or using a crappy brand. But keep adjusting your food because his demands will go up quickly. My two pups are now consuming 1 and half cups each at morning and night. so thats 3 cups total a day. If you overfeed it will cause the pup to get fat, and if you underfeed, the pup will not develop properly.

I think he's okay. As long as he's growing he's not going to get fat, so I wouldn't worry about it. Labs eat a lot, and they use a lot of energy. I've got 2, so I know all about that. Once he gets older, watch him for weight gain because labs tend to get fat in their later years. Also, he should be eating a food for Large Breed Dogs, that will help prevent bone problems.

It depends on what he is eating. Puppies should eat three times daily at that age, and about half to one full cup per meal. If you are feeding crap, he may need to eat more.
