Not the filter, I mean the white part of the cigarette where the tobacco is.

It doesn't make them burn longer, what is does is clog the tiny holes in the filter that allow the smoke to escape before entering your mouth. This makes a "light" cigarette taste stronger. I have a friend, she cracks me up because she insists on buying "extra light" cigarettes and then licks the filter on every one because they are not strong enough for her. Go figure.

I know it makes it harder to get the nicotine out of them. I hate that.
Rather have my filter nice and dry

I thought it kept the filter from sticking to your lips. Btw, I have seen people with unfiltered cigs do this more often (maybe the paper sticks to their lips?)
