I have studied, dabbled in, read on, and looked into several different religions. Now feel myself drawn towards Catholic. Is it too late to start?

Its NEVER to late. And it was very smart of you to do research
I myself have done this. After I got all my questions asked, I
turned to Christianity, and have Never been sorry.

Reading your question was like reading my own mind. I did just the same thing, and then was drawn to the Catholic religion for several reason. I was baptized Catholic at age 45 and am going for my first confession tomorrow...am I late...yeah, maybe...but I'm here. May the lord guide you and bless you on your quest for the lord our God. When I first called the church and ask about being Catholic, I ask the father...where do I start and he told me to start coming to church. I then went in to Catechism classes and then was baptized in December 2005. There is a Catholic link online that might be of interest it's: http://www.catholic.org/

The only time it's too late to start is after you're dead. Since that religion has value for you, how about talking with a priest that you can trust. Most are NOT pedophiles, and if you feel comfortable with the priest, I'm sure he will be very willing to share with you all of the people who have been baptised into the church as adults. In fact many Catholic churches have adult baptismals just for this purpose.

You've made a good start. Catholicism is appealing because of it's long history, clearly stated doctrine and (of course) tradition. Since you've been studying many different religions, whatever time you come to the one that appeals to you is the right time to choose.

However, I would suggest that you dig just a little deeper and question why you believe in God in the first place - it's an assumption that many of us take for granted without really spending any time thinking about it.

There are two books I highly recommend on this subject: "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins and "Letter to a Christian Nation".

If you are truly a seeker, you should explore all avenues.

If you have read into the religion you would know that it is never to late to ask God into you heart. It is not starting something, but changing your whole life. Dont go for a religion if you only feel drawn towards the religion, but if you feel it is the absolute truth, not the one that looks most attractive. It is never too late to be saved and want to live eternally with God our savior. Go for it if you really mean it.

I would tell you its never to late to start, but religion is not just some hobby you dabble in. It is a search for truth. It's not a club, its not a social event, and it isn't something you do for fun. Its something you do because you truly believe that this is the truth and any other way would be wrong. Not because you "think it would be cool."
If you stand before God it would be silly to say, "Oh yeah I did some God- stuff back on earth."
the Bible says, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all strength and with all your mind."
Religion, especially the Christian religion, is not a toy.
If you are truly looking for the truth go for it! God doesn't mind your age.

No, I started at 42. But if you are just looking for religion, trust me, you are not ready yet. Forget Catholic-think Jesus. The Catholic church has been out of touch with God for at least 1200-1300 years. They will never return. If you are in the USA, or Northern Europe, try a Calvary Chapel. It is theologically safe, and there are some real God loving Christians there. Once you get grounded in Scripture, and the basics of Christianity-then venture out into the church world. Calvary Chapel will put no requirements on you. They will leave you alone, and help you only where you ask them to. It is a good safe place to start.

Any age is good to take up religion of your belief. In fact you will be more matured in this age and you will be able to understand the inner meanings and also tell others in a polite manner what ever you have studied or known. Carry on. Iam elder to you so best wishes. -

As long as you are breathing , it is not too late but you do not need religion. You need a relationship with the living God who provided salvation through the death of Jesus. John 3:16. God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believe in him may not perish, but have everlasting life. Romans 6:23 shows that God offers the free gift of eternal life.
A religion does not save anyone but rather gives a false sense of security. All that will matter to God is if we became born again and let him direct our lives. We trust in Jesus because he alone gives eternal life.

Age doesn't matter but I were you I'd wait more because I don't believe in any religion and have the opinion that who researches religions good ends up agreeing with me. But, your life, your choice and it's never late for anything in this life.

I can't imagine why it would be too late to start. I think that if it's what you want, go for it. Never let your age stop you from seeking a spiritual relationship with the divine.
