My daughter was diagnosed with ADHD 11 years ago at the age of 3. She receives special ed services at school and is also labeled ODD. She's been removed from several classrooms and moved to smaller classes because of the level of disturbance she creates and is currently in an alternative school. SSA says she's no longer disabled. She steals, lies, and argues all the time. I had to borrow tissue last week. A youth shelter says she is possibly bi-polar. She's had counseling, behavior coaches, meds, etc., and nothing has worked. I keep getting fired from jobs because when the school calls I must answer. I have called the Governor's office, CPS, SSI, taken her to the hospital, and called the police. I got fired from a job working at home because I have to go answer when the school calls or they can call the police and CPS on me if I don't. She has stolen and forged a check from a neighbor and went fundraising for a fake cause. No Christmas for the other kids because this keeps costing us

She's been in counseling, the police won't help me, but I'm liable if someone presses charges. The counseling agency said she has exhausted all of their resources. The school she is in now is the school for children with behavior and emotional problems and they even call on a daily basis because she won't let up. We have been asked not to return to a certain church because of her actions and she even stole money from a lady at the new church while she was at church. I have sat down with her and she apologizes frequently but it doesn't stop. I have a 4 and 5 year old who will get nothing from me this year for Christmas because I don't even have a dollar, disconnect notices and everything and this child is not fazed. I think she is empty inside. The school nurse has even made calls to CPS for me and they won't help. No child support for any of the children, and the whole family suffers for the actions of 1.

If anyone is interested in assisting me with getting some help for this issue, call the Avondale, AZ CPS office at 623-932-8000 Maricopa County Sheriff's Office 602-876-1000
Value Options (Behavioral Health Services for poor people in AZ) 1-800-564-5465 Governor Janet Napolitano's office 602-542-4043
I have even called the television stations and told them that I am having a very difficult time getting some help for her and all they have to offer is the same set of phone numbers that I already have. I am even considering an exorcism if anyone knows how I can get one done. All these state agencies do is transfer money from hand to hand and everyone collects a paycheck on Friday whether or not the needs of the clients are met...........talk about welfare checks.

I sympathize with you! I have a brother with ADHD and have seen what my parents have gone thru with him. Have you ever tried to sit down and talk to her about what she is doing? Let her know the outcomes of her actions. If sitting down with her is unsuccessful, try a councelor or psychologist to see if that avenue helps. If still no luck, contact your doctor or CPS to see if there are any options you can do or have to help your daughter. See if there are any other meds that your daughter can take. I know for ADHD there is a med called Stratera that I have heard helps(from my brother). You need to set up a structured adjenda each day for her to follow. Talk to your schools principal to let him know that they need to be very patient and disaplined with her. Have some kind of schedule there at school for her. Maybe shorter class times, half days of school for awhile, one on one classes, whatever will benefit and help your daughter. There are more resources out there than you think. Check out on the internet about ADHD, ODD to see if on those websites there are any options and ideas for you to try or if they reccommend any meds or things for her. Good luck to you and your daughter.

Hi. What a frustrating time you are having. If you have a mental health agency in your city try calling them to make an appointment for her. If she willl not go with you for it, you might do this: 1. Go into the appointment yourself ask for help in dealing with her. 2. Talk to the police about her behavior and the next time she is apprehended request the police officer take her to a mental health clinic. You certainly need assistance with this problem. Good luck to you.
