Not sure about the model boats but try going sailing with him at the weekends - you never know you might enjoy it and at the very least, you will be demonstrating that you are taking an interest in what he enjoys doing.

Us guys like little boats better than drinking, cheating, playing couch potato. And they cost a heck of a lot less than a real one..leaves extra money to spend on thier better half...yeah right---more gear for the boats..LOL
